Top Real Estate Investments in Pakistan 2022

    0

With inflation due to fiat pumping, can a Pakistani family effortlessly survive on a single paycheck comfortably?

    The answer is ‘NO’.

Fortunately, the real estate market in Pakistan shows exceptional growth. Interestingly, a few areas in Pakistan have increased 50-60% in prices while others are crossing a whopper 100%. One way to build assets, secure them and live off profits is by investing in real estate.

Investing in higher-priced areas is risky and not a great financial move. This begs the question, what are the ideal real estate investment points in Pakistan this year?

Here’s an insight into the real estate market trends you should definitely note before making a move.

Future of Real Estate in 2022

Thanks to the current government, the investors and governing officials are extremely optimistic as far as real estate profitability is concerned. Moreover, not only are overseas Pakistanis investing more in real estate since the past 5 years, but the amount of remittance being collected is in huge figures.

Moreover, apart from this, FBR has also taken strict action against any corruption, fraud as well as all illegal investments and land scams. It is safe to state that real estate investment opportunities are likely to increase this year.

Additionally, the government of Pakistan has lessened the interest rates and is providing the investors with incentives to mitigate the economic impact the country faced due to the pandemic.

    Lahore: Real Estate Investment Opportunities

Fortunately, the second-largest city in Pakistan is full of investment opportunities for everyone. 2022 is an amazing year for investing in property and land, owing to the building of various multi-purpose, high-rise buildings, malls, residential colonies, malls, commercial shops, and even apartments and penthouses.

The top housing investment opportunities are listed below:

    • Bahria Town Lahore
    • Bahria Orchard Lahore
    • Al-Jalil Gardens
    • LDA Avenue 1
    • Kings Town Housing Scheme

Additionally, properties in the shape of constructed houses of 5 Marla, 10 Marla, and 1 Kanal are available in these housing societies. Moreover, you can also purchase land at affordable rates with or without an installment plan.

Interestingly, you can opt for a 20% booking fee, 10% for balloting, 10% possession payment, and then balancing the remaining payment with installments for 30 months. The best part is that you can change these figures at your convenience.

    Lahore: Commercial Property Investments

Commercial Real Estate (CRE) has an astounding investment ideology. Fortunately, you can benefit from the consistent return on investment, passive income as well as enjoy the growth potential over the years.

    New City Lahore

Apparently, The New Lahore City is an incredible opportunity for getting your hands on commercial property with great returns. Again, Phase 3 is offering complete possession of land with only a 40% down payment. Whether you decide to make a commercial building, an office hub, or a shopping complex, the property will be in your possession. The best part is the newly constructed road leading to the commercial land available in New City Lahore.

    Bahria Town Lahore

On the other hand, Bahria Town is a huge name when it comes to housing societies in Pakistan. Indeed it is secure, the roads are great and the response of the locals is overwhelming. However, the commercial plots are hefty, the return on investment is greater than expected due to the steady growth of this area.

    Ravi Urban Development Authority (RUDA)

Ravi Urban Development Authority (RUDA) is not a new project but Imran Khan jump-started this project in August 2020. Apparently, RUDA has attracted 8 billion dollars for the development and investors have high hopes for this commercial project.

    Islamabad: Real Estate Opportunities

Indeed, very few cities are planned and developed like the capital of Pakistan. A grid-like map with all utilities and basic amenities at your doorstep, Islamabad is nothing short of a paradise for real estate investors.

Moreover, the government has been encouraging the development of high-rise buildings for both residential and commercial purposes. However, suburban areas of the city have been attracting a lot of farmhouse enthusiasts as well.

Some of these high return investments in Islamabad and its vicinity include:

    • Bahria Enclave Islamabad
    • Pakistan Naval Farms
    • Supreme Court Housing Scheme
    • DHA Islamabad

    Bahria Enclave Islamabad

Clearly, away from the city’s hustle-bustle, Bahria Enclave is located right next to Bani Gala. It is an ideal location for people looking to invest in real estate away from city centers; in case one wants to modify said investment into the residence.

In short, like all Bahria projects, Bahria Enclave is great too. It provides top-notch utility services, repair staff on call, and security amongst other services. Amenities include nearby commercial plazas, parks and nearby agricultural lands. Above all, the views of the serene valley that encapsulates the housing project.

    Pakistan Naval Farms Housing Scheme

The Pakistan Naval Farms Housing Scheme in Islamabad is one of the safest real estate investments with high returns. In fact, mostly developed and administered by Pakistan Navy, this scheme provides you with the opportunity to invest in real-estate gold.

It is an ideal location for peaceful residences and farmhouses with nearby amenities. Recent developments in the scheme have already increased property prices many folds.

    GWADAR Real Investment Opportunities

Gwadar holds the untapped potential of Pakistan’s geo-strategic advantages in the region. Largely due to the development of a deep-sea port at its coast, Gwadar has been the center of development in recent years.

Connected to CPEC (China Pakistan Economic Corridor), Gwadar is planned to be the trade, industrial and commercial hub of the region. This prospect holds great promise for real-estate investment as well. The city is being developed at unprecedented speeds and a number of trustworthy investment schemes are offered in the market.

Some of such real estate opportunities are below:

    • Balochistan Broadway Avenue
    • Green Palms
    • Gwadar Springs
    • Gwadar Jaidad

    Balochistan Broadway Avenue

While Gwadar is at the center of this region’s future, Balochistan Broadway Avenue resides at the center of Gwadar. In short, it has easy access to the international airport, expressway, hospital, and other conveniences of modern living.

This real-estate heaven provides you the opportunity to earn high returns against a very fast pace of development all around the property scheme.

All socials including Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, and even tabloids sell the fact that celebrities are entirely out of this world and are different from the masses.

    I disagree.

Well yes, I mean they have fame, opulence, fitness, and confidence (which most of us lack). New Pakistani Actors Rocking in their 20’s

    0

Definitely young and small but surely mighty; Pakistan’s honorees are rocking in their 20’s wonderfully. Not only are they amassing social media followers and influencing millions with their style, but are also acing their acting skills on-screen.

It is safe to state that all of them are destined for bigger destinations and their rightful place in the award shows. Interestingly, with so many already endorsing top-rated brands and others stepping into the director and producer’s seats; our young actors are ambitious and hardworking, all with good looks!

Here’s a tribute to the top Pakistani actors in their 20’s because life is too short to live in a boring, ordinary way.

    Bilal Abbas Khan 28

Bilal Abbas Khan, the one and only who garnered our attention in Pyar ke Sadqey is 28 years old. Surprisingly, he joined the Pakistani media industry in 2016 by playing a supporting role alongside Ahsan Khan and Naveen Waqar. However, when he aced his negative role in Cheekh, he came directly under the spotlight.

Other than that, 2020 was his year of fame because of Pyar ke Sadqey. He rocked his role of a physical abuse survivor with psychological issues in the comedy series and everyone truly loves him since. Indeed, he is handsome, young, energetic, and hardworking. Moreover, he has already won 3 awards. How amazing is that?

    Hania Amir 24

Janan, the Pakistani feature film may have been filled with A-lister stars, but the one who stole the show is none other than Hania Amir. Apparently, Hania Amir was studying at FAST University when she aced her audition in 2016, only for the movie to receive stunning reviews later.

Then onwards, Hania Amir became the talk of the town. Indeed, she has featured in Na maloom Afrad, Parwaz hai Junoon and Load Wedding too. Additionally, her top drama series include Phir Wohi Muhabat, Anaa, Ishqiya, Dil Ruba and Sang e Mah.

If you are a Hania Amir fan, you must know that she can sing really well too; and of course, swaying to any song effortlessly is right down her alley.

    Zaviyar Noman Ijaz 26

Zaviyar grew up under the shadow of his father, Noman Ijaz; an amazing Pakistani actor. Apart from belonging to a family of artists, he is definitely a rising star in the Pakistani media industry so to speak. Interestingly, he debuted in Kissa Mehrbano Ka in 2021 and is already making his name shine bright.

The 5 ft, 9 inches tall hunk studied in Karachi and chose a career in acting and modeling. He is only 26 years old and we can foresee a bright future for him.

    Minal Khan 23

Minal Khan is cute, adorable and her innocent looks set her apart from everyone in the media industry. Apparently, the 23-year-old star began her career from Geo TV’s drama series Kash mein teri beti hoti in 2011. However, she scored her lead role as a protagonist in Urdu 1’s series Beti tau mein bhi hun in 2017.

Then onwards, Minal started scoring various notable roles in top drama series not only on Geo TV or Urdu 1 but also on Hum TV Network. Minal endorses various local brands as well. Moreover, she recently tied the knot with Ahsan Mohsin Ikram and we still can’t get over her star-studded wedding shenanigans.

    Sajal Aly 28

This Lahore-born star has created a budding acting career from a very young age. Interestingly Sajal Aly was seen in a tiny role on Geo TV in 2009. However, she receives praise for her breakout role in Mehmoodabad ki Malkain in 2011.

Sajal Aly takes on all of her characters head-on and challenges herself to master her roles. While she is tiny as compared to others in the industry, it is safe to state that her acting skills exceed her size by miles. Gul-e-Rana and O Rangreza are her top series. Moreover, her debut in a Hindi feature film ‘Mom’ raised the bar high when she aced her acting skills alongside Sri Devi.

Significantly, she has won 5 awards so far and we can’t wait to see what she brings next on the table.

    Kubra Khan 28

Kubra Khan is likely on her way to becoming one of the biggest stars in Pakistan. So far, she has an awesome list of roles from not only drama series but also from Pakistani feature films under her belt. However, what most of you might not know is that she was born and raised in London, UK; hence the non-desi accent!

Kubra Khan aka Kubsim began her career as a model and slowly moved towards acting from 2013 onwards. She debuted in Na Maloom Afrad. Interestingly she also featured in a Hindi film named Welcome to Karachi and I bet you didn’t know this.

In particular, Kubra Khan became a household name in 2016 via Sang e Mar Mar, an incredible drama series by Hum TV. Also, Khuda aur Mohabat, Alif Allah aur Insa, Muqabil, Alif and Hum Kahan ke Sachey They are her top series.

This 28-year-old is friendly yet fierce, pretty yet mature, and is full of life.

    Alizey Shah 21

There is a reason for skepticism with ‘Badnamiyan’ and Alizey Shah’s inappropriate singing skills and dressing choices. However, since she is the youngest on our list today at only 21 years of age, we are going to give her a solid pass!

Most of you might not know, but Alizey was only 6 years old when she appeared in TV commercials alongside Zuhaab Khan for Servis shoes. Nonetheless, she studied and came back on screen in 2017 with Tere Naal Love Hogaya and Choti si Zindagi. If you ask me, her top series are Ishq Tamasha and Ehd-e-Wafa.

Alizey Shah is young, cute and can definitely pave her way towards success, only if she stays wise and focused.

    Sana Javed 28

Sana Javed is one of the Pakistani media industry’s top actors. Her acting skills are on point while her skin looks flawless on screen and I for one am so inspired by it. I have to say that Sana Javed looks older for her age, but maybe it is because she is mature and sensible; not something I can say for all the actors in the industry.

The beautiful diva moved to Karachi from Jeddah with her family in the early 2000s. She began her career in modeling and TV commercials. In short, she jumped from commercials to supporting roles in 2012 and rose to prominence in 2016. Interestingly her series Zara Yaad Kar was truly engaging and working alongside Zahid Ahmed and Yumna Zaidi was a great experience for her.

Nonetheless, Ruswai and Dunk are her top series and you should definitely watch them for her serious roles because she is sooo good at it.

Iconic Female Roles in Pakistani Dramas

    0

No matter what society has taught us over the years, it is safe to state that women are brave, strong, and powerful. From running entire households, managing children to juggling two jobs or studying while working; women are unbreakable.

Hence, it is extremely important to see lead female characters in dramas to help empower women in our society. Consequently, I am glad Pakistani dramas highlight women as positive and bold characters rather than just the victims of domestic violence.

Today, let’s hear a round of applause for all the following amazing female characters in the top Pakistani drama series that shine bright through the screen to spread hope and positivity.

    Dr Nigar- Ek Hai Nigar

She never raised her voice but was able to command a room full of people- That’s something, isn’t it? Here’s what I love about Dr. Nigar and the biopic: She is resilient, focused, talented, strong, not a teeny bit emotional, and extremely realistic and logical. Did I use too many adjectives? Well, believe it or not, they all fit the character accurately.

In fact, the Pakistani media industry has been long criticized for creating the same old storylines with weak and vulnerable female characters. However, Ek Hai Nigar in 2021 altered the entire narrative. Surprisingly, Dr. Nigar Johar Khan is the first woman in Pakistan Army history to become a lieutenant-general. Presently, she is serving as the surgeon general.

However, while all her accomplishments are credible, what makes her journey so beautiful is her struggles. She lost her entire family in an airplane crash, lost her loving husband to cancer, and yet stayed strong and inspirational for all the young women. If you still haven’t watched this telefilm, give it a shot.

    Bano – Dastaan

The drama series reveals the struggles through the Pakistan-India partition era. Indeed, Sanam Baloch plays a vital role in Dastaan and her character deserves applause. Most importantly, Bano’s character represents our great grandmothers and grandmothers who suffered the atrocities due to the great movement.

Bano comes from a privileged background, but since she shifts to the new Pakistan, she undergoes hardships no one can imagine about. Dastaan is one of the greatest series Pakistan has produced. Moreover, Bano is one timeless character that has moved our hearts and has to be the best role Sanam Baloch has aced.

    Khirad – Humsafar

Khirad has to be Mahira Khan’s most special character she has played to date. Humsafar embarks on a journey of pure, naïve love, jealousy, betrayal, and trust. This series makes history with its beautiful storyline. However, Mahira Khan’s role as Khirad is one female role that is not only iconic but also an inspiration for all young girls.

Interestingly, in an interview, Mahira Khan said “Khirad is by far my most special character. She loved fiercely, she gave wholeheartedly and when it came to herself respect -she held it closest to her heart. What a woman.

What else can I say that the superstar hasn’t said? She sums up the character’s role beautifully.

    Falak – Shehr-e-Zaat

Mahira Khan is an incredible Pakistani actress. To say the least, Shehr-e-Zaat is one of her top drama series because of the diverse role she plays. Additionally, the drama series itself is iconic as the entire story and plot are unique and memorable.

Falak is a symbolic female character who is strong, creative, independent, and one who thinks out of the box. Sometimes the biggest battles are the ones you overcome internally and not externally. This is true in Falak’s case. Since Falak seeks spirituality and fights her inner battles herself, the drama as a whole is nothing but worth a watch.

    Shanzay- Ghalati

Ghalati may be a typical domestic household-centric series, but Shanzay’s character played by Mehar Bano is a hit. Interestingly, her practical and straightforward side makes us fall in love with her. Interestingly, as soon as her mother-in-law embarks on the journey to make her life hell as a typical Pakistani bahu, Shanzay’s badass character takes over and wins our heart!

Most importantly, this strong female character spreads the message across the country for young women about self-respect, confidence, and how to say ‘NO’ when needed. Indeed, a certain percentage of the audience might feel she was rude as a daughter-in-law. However, from a feminist point of view, she is strong and she knows her worth. As we all should do.

    Tara- Shahzori

This incredible rom-com series dates back to the 1970s. We all fall in love at least once in our life, but not all can take a stand for their significant other. Tara’s life is similar. When Tara and Mustafa fall head over heels for each other, they decide to secretly get married without their parents’ consent.

Keeping a marital relationship hidden from society is an ordeal and this is where Tara’s character is revealed. Unfortunately, she has a fair share of ups and downs and how she becomes strong, mature, and sensible over time is beautiful. In particular, she wins over her evil father-in-law, runs the household, takes care of everyone and this is just beyond amazing, right?

Even today when I mention this drama series to my mother and her generation, they all talk about Tara’s character with pride.

    Sanya and Zara- Tanhayian

Another heart-touching series from the 1980s, Tanhayian is a drama revolving around two sisters named Sanya and Zara. Unfortunately, both sisters lose their parents in a car accident and this is just the beginning of a downhill journey. They lose their house and only have each other. While Sanya kind of gives up, on the other hand, Zara stays determined to make everything right.

Hence, Zara’s role as a tenacious and strong young woman spreads the message about hope, hard work and good results. Women today are stronger than ever and having courage, determination and a vision is all they need.

Dr Zoya Ali Khan- Dhoop Kinarey

Dr Zoya Ali Khan is a cheerful young doctor who puts a smile on everyone’s face in the mundane hospital. Indeed, her beautiful short hair styled over a happy face makes her an iconic character from 1987.

She shows how staying happy is more powerful than just having a career. Moreover, Zoya reveals that being cheerful and happy and giving others a smile can help not only others around you but also yourself by enhancing your inner peace.

Having a career is right down everyone’s alley these days. However, the growing mental health issues including depression, bipolar, and the like is absolutely disturbing. Go check out this amazing series and learn how Zoya’s happiness makes all the difference in her as an accomplished person.

7 Best Sunday Brunch Spots in Lahore

    0

To the extent that eating out goes, Lahore is triumphing to date. If you are an early bird, Lahore is overloaded with awesome breakfast options at every nook and corner. Nonetheless, if you cannot leave the comfort of your bed on Sundays and want a meal after waking up late, Lahore has the best solutions for you too.

Indeed, there is an odd meal that is not breakfast nor lunch but the perfect combo of both. What’s it? ‘Brunch’! Yes. Lahore, the city of food and lights has the most mouth-watering Sunday brunch selections. Whether you want top-of-the-class, boutique-style restaurants or common economical eats, we have got you covered.

From perfect ghee-greasy spoons to aromatic desi buffet menus and even upmarket eateries, here’s our guide to Lahore’s top 7 brunch spots.

    Amu’s

Everyone is familiar with the glorified, yet hidden and ‘doesn’t want to be found’ eatery in Lahore. Keeping in mind the high-end price, luxurious menu, and fashionable complex, Amu’s is an authentic fine dining experience for the ones who prefer class over everything else.

Indeed, thanks to the master chef, Shahnawaz, everything on the menu is homegrown, handpicked, and cooked for the most lavish experience. The menu boasts various stylish and out-of-the-box selections including roasted plum tomato soup, yellowfin Tuna, New York Striploin, etc.

You should visit Amu’s for an intimate, exclusive experience with your better half. Moreover, remember you are paying for the chef’s unique style of cooking and his creativity and not for a hearty meal. The portions are small, the eatery is smaller and the ambiance is relaxed and serene. However, if you plan to go for a loud meet and greet Sunday with friends, Amu’s might not be the best option.

Ps: Children are allowed. Which in my opinion is a major plus point considering how high-end restaurants work.

    Contra Coffee Gulberg

Another hidden gem recently discovered in the heart of Gulberg Lahore is none other than Contra Coffee. Blessed with beautiful sunlight through the large windows, outdoor seating as well as rooftop availability, Contra Coffee is home to an exceptional brunch menu. Do you like your brunch English, stylish and light? This place is perfect for you.

The selections include Croque madame Bien Sur, sourdough bread layered with beef brisket, flavorful macaroons, egg recipes, fresh fruit salads and so much more. Moreover, choose your favorite from Ice Cream Frappe, Cold Brew Coffee, Cappucino, or Blended Bulletproof Coffee with MCT oil, this eatery has got your back.

    English Tea House

No more lazy Sunday mornings because you have English Tea House to keep you company! Interestingly, the name says it all but if you must know, you can choose from freshly baked croissants, various omelets, eggs Benedict, cereals, continental Danish pastry, sandwiches, fruit cups, and more.

The taste is great, the prices aren’t too high and the entire experience is definitely worth a try. Interestingly, you can either sit indoors and enjoy the music and the beautiful décor, or you can choose to relax in an outdoor setting and benefit from the summery windy weather.

    Eggspectation

The one thing better than brunch? Brunch with fresh seasonal juice! Interestingly, this is where Eggspectation comes in. This amazing spot located in Main Gulberg serves freshly hand-squeezed orange juice, grapefruit juice, apple juice, and carrot juice.

Moreover, you can always order their special lemonade and benefit from a huge range of smoothies and berry blends to compliment your breakfast menu. From tropical paradise to tropical teaser, what’s a better way of loading up on vitamin C than this?

Additionally, you can also relish scrumptious pancakes, French toasts in different flavors, fruit salads, sausages, onion rings and so much more.

The prices are too good to be true while the atmosphere is perfect for the younger crowd.

    Capri

We don’t really know about you, but nothing quite gets us through the day without having a mighty Lahori Desi feast! Yes, since Lahore is famous for Tarka special, masaley-dar food, nothing beats Capri in Liberty market. In particular, this food joint dates back decades, however, the recipes and tastes are still on point.

The super-duper Desi Nashta includes the classic Halwa Puri and Cholay, Nihari, Qeema fry, spicy chicken entrees, and more. However, if you are a Lassi lover, their recipe rocks beyond expectation and you should definitely check it out.

    Bundu Khan

If you are a real foodie, you cannot skip Bundu Khan. In sum, their desi nashta totally wins the bet every time because of its incredible menu. Open from 9 am onwards, Bundu Khan serves Murgh Channay, Desi Murgi, Paye, Nihari, Qeema Pura, and Brain Curry. In fact, their halwa puri and channay are finger-licking awesome.

Fortunately, the brunch menu price is perfect for your budget. Interestingly, one person can lavishly dine within pkr1200 without breaking the bank. Check out their outlet in Gulberg 3 and enjoy a hearty meal.

    Spice Bazaar

    Lahore vs Karachi Food

    0

Pakistan is a bustling country filled with amazing cities which directly translates to flavorful, diverse, and vibrant food everywhere. Interestingly, from roadside Dhabas to chic and fashionable restaurants, there’s something for everyone.

Nonetheless, since our tastes vary, some prefer their Biryani with Aloo, others like their Biryani without it. The debate about which one is better is never-ending. Hence, we thought we’d come up with an article to compare food from the two metropolitan cities Lahore and Karachi, and give you our final verdict about both.

Arey Bhayia, Karachi food is better, or do you think Lahore Lahore hai? Take a look below to decide.

    Karachi offers Diversity

Above all, the steep scale of customer base in Karachi is larger than any other city in Pakistan. A huge customer base directly translates to more investment and more investment in food joints leads to perfection of taste, mastering recipes and providing the clientele with diverse cuisines. Moreover, with imported ingredients and talented chefs flying in the city, today Karachi restaurants have so much more to offer than just Desi local cuisines.

    Lahore offers Authentic Desi Food

‘Lahore Lahore hai’ still stands true to the core because however much the time evolves, Lahori food will always be full of spices, masalas and the authentic local touch. While the customer base magnates from all over the country, the best part is how centuries-old family businesses are still intact and passed from one generation to the other to ensure the recipes are genuine.

    Karachi Food Scene

When in Karachi, always search for roadside eateries because they have unique flavors and recipes to offer. Don’t know where to start? Here are the top food joints you should definitely check out when in Karachi.

Dum Biryani Allah wala Biryani Center (Nazimabad)

If you are a Biryani lover and enjoy Aloo in your plate, this Biryani center is for you. Karachites drool over the Dum Biryani because it is fragrant, delicious, and fills with flavor. Interestingly, it is also pocket-friendly and is only priced at pkr.250 per plate. However, if you opt for a family pack, you can avail an amazing deal for just pkr. 1220.

Choose yours between chicken or beef, single or double and enjoy to the full.

Roll Parathay – Hot and Spicy

Char-grilled, juicy tender boneless chicken or beef, neatly wrapped in freshly made parathas, then loaded with cheese, chutney and veggies is the perfect meal on the go. In my opinion, if there is one food item that defines Karachi, it is roll paratha. Indeed, without a debate, Karachi chefs make the best roll parathas in a plethora of flavors and combinations that you simply can’t eat just one.

Hot and Spicy is a must-try restaurant for finger-licking good desi rolls. Interestingly, you can choose from different chicken blends as well beef blends. Add chutney, cheese and veggies as per your liking and order these babies for an incredibly delectable experience.

Chicken Bihari Tikka – Meerath Kabab House

Drive straight to Gurumander, Meerath Kabab House for the best chicken bihari tikka in town. Significantly, the food chain has numerous outlets spread across the city, but if you crave the original authentic flavor, the first branch in Gurumendar is the best.

The super spicy and juicy marinade immediately melts in your mouth and if you have it with crispy, fresh parathay, your entire experience will be doubled.

    Fried Kabab -Waheed Kabab House

Have you ever heard of chargrilled kababs, later fried and served? Believe me when I say, no visit to Karachi is complete without indulging in Waheed’s fry kababs with freshly baked naan on the Burn’s Road.

This dish is served hot as minced meat is fried in ghee and oil, for you to dip your naan deep in the plate to gain hundreds of calories all in one sitting! Nonetheless, while it may be packed with calories and oil, this dish is worth a try.

    Desi Cuisines -Kolachi

The sea waves cascading, the night sky lit with stars and BBQ smell surrounding the atmosphere, Kolachi is one place all tourists should visit. Above all, the menu Kolachi offers is exceptional.

From perfect desi cuisines to scrumptious seafood options, steaks and pasta and even Afghani recipes, you can have everything under one roof.

    Pizza – Xander’s

Now it’s turn for the chic, upscale restaurants. Every Karachite indulges in scrumptious pizza at least once a month and nothing beats Xander’s at it. It is near impossible to easily find a spot at Xander’s Café at the weekend. With that said, dwell in their heavenly tasting, brick-oven pizza. It is crispy and when it is topped with fresh mozzarella cheese and pepperoni, it is out of this world. The earthiness of the bread combined with the other ingredients complete the pizza, making it stand out from its competitor’s blends.

Other than pizza, Xander’s Café has a lot more to offer. From perfect seafood options to tasty sandwiches, grilled steaks and even desserts, Xander’s tops the list for good reason. However, the prices may seem steep, but very affordable as compared to Lahore’s top restaurants.

    Desserts – Del Frio

Nothing beats the satisfaction of enjoying a mouthwatering dessert right after dinner and what better than indulging in cakes and ice cream from Del Frio. Indeed, Del Frio has so many cool dessert options for everyone’s palette. From Lotus, Ferrero, chocolate fudge to even three milk and cheesecake, they have so many flavors to choose from.

The price range is hefty but if you crave the premium taste and quality, Del Frio is where you need to be.

    Lahore Food Scene

All Lahoris do is eat because there aren’t many things to do in the city. From high-end, fashionable eateries to meals being served in historical locales, here are the top cuisines that set Lahore apart from Karachi.

    Muhammadi Nihari – Chauburji

Like most Lahoris, I am a big fan of Nihari too. Nonetheless, when it comes to Nihari, all Lahoris debate over Waris Nihari from Baghbanpura or Muhammadi from Chauburji being better than the other. I am team Muhammadi of course!

Slowly cooked beef in authentic Pakistani spicy gravy served with freshly baked naan is too good to be true. While Muhammadi has various offshoots across Lahore, the best taste is still found in the original branch.

It is safe to say it is extremely pocket-friendly and if you are visiting Lahore, you should definitely try this delicacy.

    Siddique Kabab – Model Town

I’ll have to agree that Kabab is Karachi’s forte, but when it comes to Siddique, they serve their kabab’s in an extremely unique way. Small, chargrilled seekh kabab cover your plate and refill as soon as you finish. More importantly, these goodies are served with two types of chutney (sauce), and you can choose between naan or lacheydaar parathay.

Nonetheless, everyone argues about Bhayia ke Kabab easily beating Siddique’s. In my opinion, Bhayia is overrated and Siddique is the real deal.

Masala Fish – Bashir Dar ul Mahi

This restaurant takes over the city during the fish season as they offer the best masala fish in town. It is impossible to select just one fish from the eatery as each has its own aura. Choose your favorite from Rahu, Tawa Bone, Grilled or Finger Fish. Each recipe is scrumptious and made to perfection.

    Steaks – Café Zouk

This boutique-style café tops our list when it comes to steaks, chicken entrees and all foods continental. The delightful cuisines come in generous portions and hence, hefty prices in exchange.

However, I feel the seating area is slightly congested and the music is too loud. Nonetheless, since the food is lip-smacking great, everything else becomes a blur.

Thin Crust Pizza – Rina’s Kitchenette

Pizza has become one of our top adopted foods in the country because it is easy to eat, can be delivered, and is mess-free. Hence, when it comes to pizzas, there are more than 50 different options available in Lahore.

However, with Pizza Hut almost losing its mark, restaurants including Rina’s kitchenette, Sweet affairs for brick-oven, 14th Street and Manhattan Bites are taking over for good reason.

Rina’s offers 8 different gourmet Italian flavors but if you ask me, Firenze Nova, and into the woods top the list. The perfect tomato base complements the smoked chicken chunks and Parmesan Reggiano topped with Rocket Leaves and tasty sour cream. Everything combines into a delectable slice, and trust me, you can’t have just one.

    Yum Chinese and Thai

When we want chowmein, prawns, Chinese soup and Thai entrees, Yum effortlessly tops the list in Lahore. The best part is how they have still maintained their standard, quality, and taste. Their Yum special crispy fried beef in sesame is heavenly when paired with beef chowmein and Mandarin chicken.

The prices steep over to the expensive side, but the experience is worth a try.

    Final Verdict

Karachi serves the best kababs, roll parathay and Sheermaal. On the other hand, Lahore has the best Nihari, Mithai, Fish and Continental Food. Each city has its own specialties and I guess you will have to visit both to find out your favorite.

Discover Pakistan: Top 5 Spots for Camping Experience

    0

It is a fact that a country greatly benefits from the exposure it gains thanks to increased tourism in the country. It is a very similar case in Pakistan. As tourism continues to reach new peaks, the country prospers significantly in return. Due to this increase, the world is able to view Pakistan as a peaceful, civilized, and beautiful nation. In relation to this, people appreciate the scenic God-crafted beauty, the rich cultures, and breathtaking locations. It extends to every type of tourist; trekkers, photographers, explorers, campers and more.

While every other activity as a tourist in Pakistan tends to be a no-brainer, people usually question which spots in the country are the safest, well accommodated and provide the ultimate camping experience.

Before you set your mind on going to the best spots in Pakistan for a camping experience, make sure you are fully equipped with all the things that might come in handy during such an experience. Fortunately, you can do that with a single tap on your phone by utilizing online pharmacies such as emeds to your advantage.

Overview of the Top Camping Spots

Indeed, camping is adventurous and, sometimes, you have to muster up the courage to go through with such a daring act. However, that might not be the case in this scenario. Most spots in Pakistan which offer an excellent camping experience are entirely safe and well facilitated.

Furthermore, we have taken the liberty of curating a list of the top camping sites in Pakistan, so you can be aware of your options the next time you are planning a trip.

Here are some of the best camping spots in Pakistan:

    • Pir Chinasi
    • Arang Khel
    • Siri Paye
    • Fairy Meadows
    • Kund Malir

It is important to note that most of these areas are located up north. However, there are a few scattered in the southern region of Pakistan, as well. Another vital thing to keep in mind is that while camping in good ol’ tents is the main attraction, you can also spend your nights in motels, hotels, and glamps. This alternative can be helpful.

    Pir Chinasi

Pir Chinasi is commonly known as the capital of Azad Jammu and Kashmir. It is a hill station that is situated about 30 kilometres from Muzaffarabad. The camping area is at the height of 9,500 feet above sea level. Moreover, the hill station is just one of the examples of the famous beauty Jammu and Kashmir possesses. The visually pleasant plains of the hilltop paired with an eagle’s eye look of the stunning Muzaffarabad city is simply magnificent.

Pir Chinasi is most often dwelled by devotees of Saint Shah Hussain Bukhari – his tomb is in Pir Chinasi. The optimal time to visit Pir Chinasi is between the months of June and September. Also, it is wise to carry your own camping gear.

    Fairy Meadows

Fairy Meadows is regarded as one of the hidden gems of Pakistan. It showcases spectacular views of the Nanga Parbat Peak as it is located somewhat nearby the base camp of the Nanga Parbat. Also, Fairy Meadows is a well-known enticing location for any adventure-seeking, adrenaline-junkie visitor. The meadows are not everyone’s cup of tea, though. It is a fairly dangerous journey just to get to the base camp since the meadows are situated at an elevation of 10,800 feet above sea level. You can reach Fairy Meadows via a hike from Raikot Bridge, which is approximately 80 kilometres from Gilgit.

    Siri Paye

Siri Paye is located at a fair distance of about 8 kilometres from Shogran. Siri Paye consists of two locations: Siri Lake and Paye Meadows. These two destinations are on a potholed hike up the mountain. Although the lake comes sooner, campers tend to go in the direction of the meadows, which are at the top. The meadow is approximately 9,900 feet above sea level. Similar to other areas of KPK, it is advised to visit the campsite during the months of July to September.

Camping at Paye Meadows is essentially very easy. It is almost a breeze compared to Fairy Meadows due to the fact that basic facilities are readily available. The only tricky part tends to be the weather as it, reportedly, changes very quickly. The bipolarity of the weather could be bad for your tent, so make sure the one your tent is reliable.

    Kund Malir

Kund Malir is the most suitable option for camping – if you want to camp in Balochistan. It is a beach found next to the Makran Coastal Highly. It is located within the Hingol National Park. Since the elevation is merely 115 feet above sea level, it is also suitable for families with kids. It does have surrounding cliffs that look simply elegant against the beautiful backdrop of a sunset. The crystal blue waters, starry skies, and soft breezes – Kund Malir is a dream. It is located nearly 200 kilometres from Karachi.

The weather in Kund Malir, Balochistan, is perfect for a trip between February to April or even September to November as the other months are too cold or too hot.

    Arang Kel

Last but not least, Arang Kel. The beautiful campsite is located roughly 20 kilometres from Sharda in the Neelum Valley. The views and plains of the campsites are unmatched. It is a bit challenging to reach as compared to Kund Malir. This is due to its height of 7,800 feet and the tough route. There are breathtaking forests, meadows, hilltops and clear waterfalls in Arang Kel.

You can start your journey to Arang Kel in the small tourist town of Kel. Then, you can either hike to Arang Kel or take a chairlift over dusky forests.

Several options are available for an overnight stay when you reach Arang Kel. These options consist of guesthouses, tents, and motels. Also, you can easily seek out basic necessities. However, it is better to carry your own campsite essentials.

11 New Upcoming Pakistani Dramas you should look forward to in 2022

    0

It is rather fair to state that 2021 was an awesome year for TV, movies, drama series, and the like. With covid-19 lockdowns, all we did was watch television and binge on our favorite shows like never before.

2022 doesn’t look much different. Moreover, not only has the Pakistani media industry nailed its art to craft impeccable drama series in recent years, but the fact that we can witness diverse storylines is too good to miss.

With that said, here’s a sneak peek of the 11 incredible drama series coming our way in 2022 with so many debuts and comebacks. Missing out on even one of them will give you a guilt trip, so behold and check these out.

Jo Bachey Hain Sang Samait Lo

Is it Fawad Khan’s comeback? Is this for real? Pakistan’s heartthrob celeb is making a comeback in the Pakistani media Industry through drama serials in 2022 and we simply cannot keep calm.

Apparently, we last saw him on the screen in 2013 in ‘Numm’ and ‘Armaan’. However, who can forget his splendid performance in Humsafar alongside Mahira Khan? Here’s hoping Jo Bachey hain Sang Samait Lo by Farhat Ishtiaq is as breathtaking.

Nonetheless, the rest of the cast is yet to be auditioned for the roles, but we are hearing Ayesha Omar may be a part of the project too. Fingers crossed, let’s wait for more news to come because I for sure am extremely excited for this drama series to air.

    Main Manto Nahi Hoon

Can this drama get more star-studded than this? Interestingly, Hamayun Saeed, Maya Ali and Mehwish Hayat have joined hands for this upcoming drama series and the fans are over the moon.

Directed by Nadeem Baig and written by the renowned Khalil ir Rehman, Main Manto Nahi Hoon is another Six Sigma Plus Production with the unchanged dream-team of Mere Paas Tum Ho (2019).

Above all, Main Manto Nahi Hoon is an incredible romantic story that is not short of an emotional rollercoaster ride nor action and drama. However, all we know for sure is that Humayun Saeed and Maya Ali have scored the lead roles while Mehwish Hayat is bringing a new look for all her fans. 2022 is already looking good, right!

    Qismat

Another much-awaited series will lighten up the screen in early 2022. Qismat’s storyline and plot have not yet been disclosed. However, what is great about Qismat is that we will see the beautiful Hira Mani act alongside Muneeb Butt and Noor Hassan Rizvi.

Interestingly, the BTS, shooting and acting pictures are popping up on social media platforms which only hint towards the series not being far from airing on televisions.

    Dekh Tamasha-e-Roshni

Dekh Tamasha-e-Roshni is a GEO TV production and everyone can watch it on the screens in 2022. Moreover, it is safe to state that GEO TV produces incredible drama series and next year won’t be any different.

The cast is great and we can see how different and fresh the pairing is too. Hiba Ali will act alongside the renowned actor Ahsan Khan and one of the best upcoming actors in Pakistan, Shehzad Sheikh. On the other hand, you will also witness Farhan Ali Agha, Moomal Khalid, and Mujtaba Khalid playing important roles too.

Unfortunately, we are unaware of the storyline, however are looking forward to the star-studded series.

    Sang e Mah

Sang e Mah has to be the biggest drama series of 2022 for so many reasons. Firstly, Atif Aslam, the celebrated voice of Pakistan is debuting in this series. Will Atif Aslam act as well as he sings? I guess we will have to wait for Hilmand to make his debut on the television. At least we can be sure the songs from the series will be super.

Secondly, everyone is familiar with Momina Duraid production and what blockbuster hits they create. Above all, the cast is faultless and the drama teasers reveal nothing but an incredibly intense storyline.

In short, you will see Hania Amir, Kubra Khan, Atif Aslam, Nauman Ijaz, Omair Rana, Samiya Mumtaz, and Sania Saeed on the project. Interestingly, you will also see Zaviyar Noman Ijaz making his acting debut this year. As I said, this series is too good to miss.

    Mere Humsafar

Indeed, pairing Farhan Saeed and Hania Amir as lead actors for Mere Humsafar is something we can cheer for in 2022. They both gel well together, look great and we have never seen them together on the screen.

We hear the drama series is a powerful love story with various hurdles and family interventions before the duo can have their happy ending. Interestingly, the first look of the play reveals how intense it is. We have always seen Hania Amir in an independent, sharp and crisp role, but things are about to change as we see her transform into a vulnerable character.

    Ye Ishq Samajh na Aye

Who doesn’t adore a good heart-touching romantic series? Keep an eye out on Ye Ishq Samajh na Aye to watch Shahroz Sabzwari and Syeda Tuba Anwar together. Syeda Tuba Anwar poured her heart out and mentioned in an interview with Dawn that “Sharoz is a great support, and they “instantly connected.”

We are not sure which channel will showcase it but we are surely waiting for it eagerly.

    Dil Awaiz

Apparently, Dil Awaiz is another awesome drama featuring Kinza Hashmi, Affan Waheed and Azfar Rahman with an underlining romantic theme. Interestingly, the drama shooting has taken place in a rural setting in Sindh but that is all we know yet. Madiha Shahid writes the story while Mazhar Moin is directing the series.

This GEO TV series will air in 2022 and we are already enthralled by the gorgeous, vibrant Pakistani costumes, duppatas, and local jewelry. We can’t wait to watch the drama series.

    Kaala Doriya

A perfect family-centered play, Kaala Doriya is full of emotions, drama, romance and betrayal. Interestingly, we will see Farhan Saeed and Sana Javed as the lead characters. The story is penned down by Samia Akram.

Samia Akram is an incredible story and screenwriter and her renowned work include Suno Chanda, Chupke Chupke and Adhi Gawahi. With that said, we feel we are going to witness another notable drama series soon. However, Amin Iqbal mentioned how the drama’s story is different compared to Samia Akram’s previous work.

    Badzaat

This 7th Sky Entertainment Production in collaboration with Geo TV is already gaining all the hype it can get. Indeed, starring Imran Ashraf and Urwa Hoccane together is something we all haven’t seen before.

I mean, how can we ever forget Imran Ashraf nail ‘Bhola’ as a character, right? Let’s see what he has in store for Badzaat.

    Salauddin Ayubi

If Turkish drama series rock your boat, we bet you can’t wait to see Pakistan and Turkey co-produce a series! Moreover, with no less than 3 seasons to be shot in Turkey with renowned actors from both countries.

Interestingly, out of 6000 candidates auditioning for the series, only 60 were selected to showcase the life of the popular Islamic warrior, Sultan Salauddin Eyyubi. Auditions were held in Lahore and Karachi, out of which Ushnah Shah, Farhan Agha and Ayesha Omar made the cut. Unfortunately, Nadia Hussain did not make her mark for any role.

The Turkish partner, Akli Films, and Pakistani partner, Ansari and Shah Films will join hands for this breathtaking joint venture never seen before.

This series dates back to the days when Ayesha Khan was a part of the Pakistani media industry till she got married and parted ways for good. Casting Ahsan Khan, Ayesha Khan and Rubina Ashraf, the story is emotional, heart-touching, and perfect for women.

Indeed, the story revolves around a girl named Abeeha Ansari who unfortunately gets trapped outside her house due to a stormy night. Consequently, her life alters forever when fingers start pointing towards her and weird allegations take over. She must prove her innocence to get her life back. Ahsan Khan also plays a pivotal role in the drama series and you guys should definitely watch it.

Consequently, Arafah returns home to her parents with a baby in her arms, but she has to face many more hardships and taunts before she can take a stand for herself and her daughter.

Ahsan Khan plays the role of Tabraiz. He comes back to Pakistan somewhere in the middle of the story, only to find that Arafah’s daughter Eesha and Eesha’s cousin Rafia both develop feelings for him and things become difficult once again.

I don’t want to give the story away! If you are looking for a series that is heart-touching, this is the one.

    Udaari 2016

Udaari is one of its kind of drama series everyone should definitely watch. Not only is its cast amazing, but how everyone acts is really engaging. Above all, Ahsan Khan’s negative role truly captures everyone’s attention. He is terrifying, powerful, mighty and mean. Hence, witnessing him as a pedophile is a treat for sore eyes as we have never seen Ahsan Khan play the villain and Udaari is one exception you can’t miss.

Moreover, Udaari is definitely the turning point of his acting career because he truly aced the on-screen presence. The story revolves around women from different backgrounds that struggle fighting family issues, societal issues, taboos, culture and so much more.

Udaari stars Urwa Hoccane, Ahsan Khan, Bushra Ansari, Hina Altaf, Farhan Saeed, etc.

    Aangan 2018

Surprisingly, Ahsan khan mentioned an interview that he played two different roles in Aangan and you should read more to find out about it! This series is beautifully directed and above all, it also received the Adamji Literacy Award.

    Haasil 2018

Haasil is a Geo TV production that features Ahsan Khan, Marwa Hoccane and Sonya Hussayn. When two friends from very different backgrounds turn into rivals, things are ought to become steamy, hot and revengeful.

When spoken to Ahsan khan about the series, he revealed that his role is rather simple and laid back in comparison to his other dramas. He also added that it mostly revolves around the girls but he has a few major parts to play in it.

    Alif 2019

Alif is an eye-opening drama series everyone should watch. Above all, this series is a combination of a great story, impeccable direction, and emotional acting skills by the entire cast. Moreover, the cast is too good to be true. Starring Hamza Ali Abbasi, Ahsan Khan, Sajal Aly and others, Alif received the Lux Style award as well.

Equally important, Ahsan Khan is an incredible actor with so many diverse acting roles up his sleeve. In an interview, Khan mentioned “This character is different from what I have done in the past. It is not a run-of-the-mill kind of role. The character is very spiritual, who finds tranquility in Rumi’s words and takes inspiration from his life.”

Interestingly, the story and the plot touched the word ‘Alif’ as a metaphor for the perfect connection with God. While Qabl e Momin has an extremely materialistic approach towards life and things around him, on the other hand, Momina Sultan is the complete opposite. Things begin to twist when they cross paths and their lives alter forever.

Bol Nights with Ahsan Khan 2019

Top Pakistani Masala Brands Everyone Loves

    5

Interestingly, herbs and spices have become an essential part of our lives over the course of centuries. We not only enjoy the aromatic scent of masalas but the flavor they add to the simplest of dishes is divine.

Above all, spice traders began trading spices including cinnamon, ginger powder, salt, pepper, cardamom, and others centuries ago. Trading began not only in Asia but also in Europe, Africa, and other continents. Hence, over the years of transactions, trading, and improved concoctions, we can now enjoy hundreds of blends like never before.

Moreover, what would cooking be like without ‘masaly’, right?  I mean, how can one have Biryani without the finger-licking-good masala flavor, and oh, same goes for Nihari, BBQ marinade, Haleem, and whatnot.

Today, let’s learn about the top Pakistani masala and herb brands that are not only reliable but budget-friendly too.

    Shan Foods

Shan is one of the leading culinary brands hailing from Pakistan. Above all, the brand provides all modern housewives with the perfect desi blends for ready-to-cook meals any time of the day. Moreover, Shan Foods offer more than 60 different recipe mixes.

If you crave oriental cuisines, you can effortlessly purchase Chinese Beef, sweet and sour and even egg fried rice blends. However, their curry masala range is the one that grabs attention globally. From Murgh Cholay to Nihari, Paya, Haleem, from White Chicken Curry to Kofta, Korma and Kunna, the range is super elaborate. May I also add that each masala mix has an aura of its own! They are finger-licking-good and all you have to do is add salt according to your taste and you are good to go.

On the other hand, you can also choose Shan Foods masalay rice, fried items, Arabic cuisines, tenderizers, BBQ, Vegetarian foods and so much more.

    National Foods

National Foods work towards providing the best ground spice mixes and recipe mix to the masses and they are doing a commendable job. Interestingly, their range is also super elaborate and you can find it in various countries other than Pakistan as well. Moreover, their global presence reveals how they ease cooking from bustling cities to farmlands and from seaside to mountainsides.

National Foods offers more than 40 recipe mixes and also masters single ground spices including red chili powder, salt, turmeric, cardamom, and more.

Their price range is also extremely affordable. While you can enjoy their big packs, you can equally benefit from mini masala packs.

    Daali Earth Foods

Daali Earth Foods is a wonderful brand available in Pakistan for their high-quality masala blends, whole grain and honey. As their motto suggests, ‘nothing is added and nothing is removed’. They produce all their products with natural methods, following traditional deep-rooted Pakistani practices to ensure all the flavors are natural.

You can find ground pepper, Chaat Masala, cinnamon, coriander, cumin, garam masala, rock salt and so many other spice options.

    Taza Foods

Taza Foods is a renowned spice brand in Pakistan and was founded in 2004. Interestingly, it quickly developed into a multidimensional brand while offering their products in more than 3 continents.

Additionally, Taza Food spices are unique and include Aloo Bukhara, Ajwain, Hing, Amchur powder, Anardana, brown sesame seeds, fennel, fenugreek and lots more. However, this brand also deals in ready-to-fry items, sauces and dips, ready-to-heat and eat snacks, bakery items and more.

Their price range is pocket-friendly while you can find their products in various local stores.

    Vatani

Vatani is an interesting spice brand because they collect various herbs from different regions and combine them to create something totally out-of-the-box. Above all, what caught my eye was their exclusive collection of spice rubs. Firstly, the packaging is super cool, the color scheme is eye-catching and the flavor is totally delectable.

Their spice rub collection includes amazing masala fries mix, Southern chicken rub, drumsticks rub, Raan Roast mix and even Arabian seasoning. However, my favorite is their awesome beef burger spice rub seasoning. All we do is add this in the patty mixture, add Worcestershire sauce and they are good too go. You guys should try it sometime!

The prices may seem slightly on the edge compared to other local brands, but dude, Vatani knows its mixes too well.

    Milan Foods

Milan is another awesome brand that offers a one-stop solution to your cooking spree on a daily basis. Hence, if you enjoy desi foods full of flavor, spices and Tarka, this brand is for you. Their Pulao, Biryani and Karhai masalas are great.

Above all, who will disagree that Mahira Khan and Fawad Ali Khan make the best onscreen couple to date? I mean, weren’t they just the perfect pieces of a puzzle? Well, if you agree, you have to watch Humsafar because it is one of the best the Pakistani drama industry has come up with.

Moreover, Qurutulain Baloch sang the OST beautifully and if you remember, it instantly became the talk of the town in 2011. Indeed, Humsafar is the perfect girly drama series you should watch if you still haven’t.

    Bin Roye

Well, Mahira Khan ka drama, and romance na ho? Bin Roye is another hit girly series on our list because it is romantic, drama, tragedic, teary, and whatnot.

The storyline develops around the lines of Saba (Mahira Khan) being head over heels for Irtiza (Humayun Saeed) since childhood. They do everything together and are best friends. However, when their cousin Saman comes in the picture, Irtiza asks her hand in marriage and everything changes.

More tragedy follows later in the episodes and Bin Roye is too awesome to miss. The soundtracks are very catchy while the story itself is super romantic.

    Baandi

Baandi is not your average chick flick as it features misery, mistreatment, and abuse. However, it makes the cut in our list today because it shows justice served right for a young girl.

    Aik Nayee Cinderella

Who doesn’t love the classic Cinderella story? As a girl, growing up, Cinderella is one of the very few first stories we read, movies we watch and totally fall in love with the idea of a princess. Moreover, it will never get old and boring. Am I right?

Hence, keeping the myth alive, Aik Nayee Cinderella is a very nicely produced Pakistani drama series by Geo Tv for all the girls out there. Interestingly, it is a story about a modern-day Cinderella named Meesha, who lives with two stepsisters and a stepmother. Surprisingly, she also crosses paths with her prince charming but instead of the magic spell diminishing at the strike of 12, she has to make a few fair choices to land in his arms. It is bubbly, sweet, romantic, and light.

Moreover, it is perfect for teenage girls as well as older women because the storyline is great. Additionally, the story features Maya Ali, Osmaan Khalid Butt and Saba Hameed. Isn’t the cast perfect for this story?

    Mah e Mir

This drama series alone made 26.5 million INR at the box office, hence making it a complete hit. Mah e Mir was an incredible feature film that was turned into a drama series for all the audience to watch later.

The storyline is unique and totally interesting. A modern-day poet is completely against the traditional old Urdu poetry. However, he comes across Mir Taqi Mir’s poetry, reads it and begins to see Mir’s reflection on himself.

It is not only a wonderful combination of modern-day and classic poetry but also features classy cinematography. Fahad Mustafa does a splendid job taking Jamal’s role while Iman Ali plays Mahtab. It is a must-watch for poetry lovers.

    Khaas

If you love standing up for women’s rights, Khaas is the perfect drama series for you. A young, ambitious, fresh out of college girl is sweet, talented, and belongs to a simple family who trusts her. Apparently, one fine day, a boy from a better background sees her, falls in love with her, and decides to marry her just because of her looks.

They know nothing about each other but the girls give him a shot, only to find out he is a rude husband who is jealous of her sweet personality and the fact that his family is also falling in love with her. 10 New Addictive Netflix Shows you need to watch

    0

The advent of Netflix has completely altered our lives, wouldn’t you agree? Not only is this video streaming site the most binge-worthy outlet but the myriad of TV shows and movies it offers is simply splendid. Moreover, the increased programming home consumption is partly owed to the covid-19 lock-down however a long-term trend equally plays the part.

Whether you want to relax over the weekend or enjoy a late-night movie, Netflix offers you everything. However, sometimes, too many options can also ruin the fun. Not sure what you want to watch? You may choose a particular genre but never satisfactorily select a show? If this is the case with you, just know that you are not alone.

I, myself am a Netflix Junkie if you put it rather effortlessly. Hence, according to me, the charts and a global liking, here are the top 10 most addictive and trending TV shows you must check out. Please note that all the mentioned shows are recent and not all-time top favorites.

    Downton Abbey

If you want to dive back into the beautiful and simple times of the 1920s, Downton Abbey is the show for you. For one, I am totally in love with this series. Interestingly, from its ideally detailed aesthetic straight to the well-worn personalities of all the characters, each aspect is well directed.

Significantly, the story of the British historical drama series is based in the early 20th century. Moreover, the story mainly revolves around the Crawley Family residing in the Yorkshire Country Estate of Downton Abbey, their extended family members, and their faithful domestic staff. While it might sound dry and boring, it is quite the contrary once you start watching it.

It is safe to say that each character has something unique to offer on the screen and the bond that creates with them is spectacular. My favorite characters include Mr.Carson, Mrs.Hughes, Lady Grantham and especially Mrs. Patmore from the kitchen! I guess you will have to give it a shot to know about these names.

    Squid Games

Squid Games is the most mysterious TV series that is trending beyond imagination right now. Firstly, Squid Games does not have squids! Yes, it has games and loads of them. Moreover, one factor why the audience loves this show is because it highlights competitiveness, fear, courage, and the survival of the fittest and smartest.

Apparently, the story revolves around a mysterious invitation sent to people in high debt to participate in a secret game to overcome their finances. Since they owe huge amounts of money and have none, most of them accept the invitation, only to find it is a life or death situation.

Above all, 456 participants join the game to be precise. All the participants are locked in a secret facility on a faraway island without any outside social contact. Moreover, 45.6 billion Won are at stake. Who will win? Who will lose? What will the winner do with such a grand fortune? I guess you will have to watch it to find out.

I highly recommend this Korean, English dubbed show because it is different, engaging, and emotional at the same time.

    You

This creepy stalker drama series has all the audience’s attention this year. Joe Goldberg (Penn Badgely) is back in the 3rd season of ‘You’ and teenage girls can’t stop drooling over him.

Clearly, the hardworking bookstore manager knows his way around getting everything, especially love. Will he go to any length to get the aspiring writer’s love back? Interestingly, the story revolves around his simple crush turning into obsession within days. Moreover, he uses social media and all other tools to get close to the girl of his dreams.

However, he must eliminate all hurdles, even (people) to get close to her. Is he great at hiding his trail and all the evidence? Go watch this romantic thriller to escape reality.

    Maid

A mentally abused mother of a 2-year-old decides to leave her boyfriend (father of her child) at night. However, she doesn’t have a plan, any money, or a place to call home. Alex, the young mom must resort to house cleaning services as a maid to make her ends and goals meet. What’s her main goal? To get her daughter’s custody.

Interestingly, you will watch this series through the lens of a desperate and determined mother who will even climb the mountain without losing spirit.

I started watching it, however, found it rather depressing and slow. However, if you are emotional and enjoy sad, slow, and serious shows, this is perfect for you.

House of Secrets – The Burari Deaths

Trigger warning: House of Secrets – The Burari Deaths has graphic elements and the story is based on homicide/ suicide. Unfortunately, the docu-series is based on true events.

In particular, a happily residing family in Delhi of 11 is found hanging dead from their roof one fine day. Horrendous and shocking, isn’t it? Why would all family members do something so heinous? Has anyone else done this to them? The answers are unknown.

Was this a shared psychosis or were they all part of a cult? This Netflix documentary is a must-watch if you enjoy crime-based series.

    Locke and Key

Locke and Key is rather interesting and may I add, it is perfect for all age groups. The plot revolves around the father being accidentally killed by a gunshot only to make the remaining Locke members go live in the father’s ancestral home, Keyhouse.

Surprisingly, the house is full of mysterious keys, magical powers, and creatures and all this may be linked to their father’s death. While the three siblings do absolutely everything to find each key, a dooming demon awakens and the battle begins.

This series is fantastical, engaging, connecting, and fun for all the family members.

    Sex Life

Searching for something lustful, steamy, and romantic? Sex Life is the answer to your prayers. Sarah Shahi, the horny, desperate yet sad, and stressed mother of two kids misses her carefree past. Moreover, she tries to connect with her husband but both of them are at different wavelengths.

Her best friend is the bridge between her and her ex-boyfriend. Surprisingly, neither of them is over each other. Clearly, her sad marital life may lead her straight in the arms of her dream boy for the lustful eyes her husband doesn’t have for her. While the secret affair is the perfect escape, unfortunately, will she wreck her marriage at the same time?

Highly engaging, hot, steamy, and blushful, Sex Life is one show couples can watch to reignite the flames!

    In the Dark

This is another crime-based series revolving around a 20- something-year-old, blind girl’s life. Clearly, Muprhy has only two friends and one of them wounds up dead right outside her apartment. However, by the time the police arrive, the body disappears. The police are not inclined enough to investigate the situation.

Hence, Murphy must take the situation in her own hands and find out the truth behind his death. The series is interesting, intriguing, and engaging.

    Dynasty

This soap opera is grand, colorful and emotional. Interestingly, this is a modernized reboot of two American families from the 1980s. Both, The Carringtons and the Colbys wrestle to win over the dynasty as well as the control and power it brings.

This series shows the mesmerizing glitz and glam of the powerful and rich. Moreover, it also shows all under-the-table deals, dark secrets, manipulation, and more. I highly recommended it for women.

    The Witcher

With an 8.2 IMDB rating and making its way to the top 10 in Pakistan, this fantasy-enriched series is perfect for men. The Witcher series is based on its novel and Henry Cavill is the main attraction. Interestingly, the series gives spirit and life to the scenes from the novel and it is not as close to reality.

The mutated monster hunter, Gerald (witcher) finds it rather hard to fit in the crowd and learns how some people can be worse than beasts.

If you enjoy the world of DC and Marvel, you are more likely to enjoy this series.

5 Pakistani Musicians that became great Tv Actors

    0

Even though Pakistani musicians have won countless awards and have earned millions from concerts, it is certain that they don’t want to limit their talent to just playing music. That’s right. It is safe to state that Pakistan is filled with talent in every corner and each one of us has more than one.

Moreover, it is also noted how musicians from all genres have hopped from music to feature films and even TV drama series and the results are stunning. Wouldn’t you say? Additionally, with the downfall of the music industry in Pakistan, I guess working in the media industry is almost the most appropriate alternative.

From Bing Crosby for pioneering the singer-turning actor, here’s a list of the top 5 Pakistani musicians who did nothing but the same.

    Fawad Khan

Indeed, Fawad Khan is the biggest heartthrob of Pakistan. Moreover, not only is he charming and charismatic, he drools with talent in singing, playing instruments and acting like none other.

The famous music band, Entity Paradigm came into being in early 2000s and everyone went Gaga over it. It was amazing, I’ll give you that. Also, there has been no similar rock band in Pakistan to date. Unfortunately, the band broke up in 2007 and Fawad Khan saw an opportunity in the drama industry instead.

Significantly, in 2001, Fawad Khan debuted in Jutt and Bond alongside his bandmate Ahmed Ali Butt. Not only were they awesome on-screen but the being on the screen surely brought both of them under the spotlight.

Again, Fawad Khan aced his role in Shoaib Mansoor’s film Khuda ke Liye in 2007 and gained global recognition. I mean, he won the Lux Style Award for best actor in 2008!

Nonetheless, Fawad Khan’s best work till date has to be starring alongside Mahira Khan in Humsafar (2011). Indeed, the duo rocked the screen hand in hand. Moreover, girl fans went head over heels for Fawad Khan as Asher.

Khan also gained Bollywood recognition by starring in Khoobsurat and Kapoor and Sons.

    Ahmed Ali Butt

Fawad Khan’s band-mate, Ahmed Ali Butt is no short of introduction. He is witty, funny, sweet, helpful, and energetic too. Interestingly, this comedian, keyboardist, rapper and singer chose the path towards acting and excelled from the start.

He ventured into the world of screen and debuted in the drama series Jutt and Bond in 2001. Then he worked in Rubber Band, Inspector Khoji, Mr Shamim, 3 Bahadur, Jawani Phir Nahi Ani and many more.

    Junaid Khan

Junaid Khan belongs to a family of Pashtun descent. Significantly, Junaid Khan formed a Pakistani renowned musical band named ‘Call’ in the early 2000s. Interestingly, their first track named ‘Nishaan’ went viral and gained them the spotlight.

Nonetheless, Junaid Khan decided to check his luck in Pakistani showbiz by becoming an actor in 2011. Unfortunately, he received more criticism than appreciation from his fans. He mentioned in an interview, “I received the feedback that I’m stiff, I’m not giving enough expressions,’ I made sure I train myself on-ground.” Interestingly, he most certainly put in a lot of effort into his acting skills and aced many drama series afterward.

His most accomplished work includes Yahan Pyar Nahi Hai, Bin Roye, Ishq Tamasha, Kashf, and many others.

    Ali Zafar

Ali Zafar is Pakistan’s one of the most multi-talented artists who is nothing but a ray of sunshine. Indeed, most of you might not know but Ali Zafar began his career as a sketching artist in Pearl Continental Hotel Lahore.

He is a fine singer and his famous songs include Rangeen, Huqa Pani, Ve Mahiya, Sun re Sajaniya, Chal dil Mere and more. However, he also sang for Bollywood and his songs include Palat meri Jaan, Madhubala, etc.

Significantly, he debuted as a television actor in Kollege Jeans, Kaanch ke Par and Landa Bazar. Since he was a fine actor, he began receiving many feature film and drama series offers instantly.

In 2010, he debuted in Bollywood for Tere Bin Laden. Again, in 2011 he appeared in Mere Brother ki Dulhan alongside Imran Khan and Katrina Kaif. The feature film was a hit in India as well as in Pakistan and all the fans loved the bubbly storyline.

His other accomplishments include Chashme Badoor, Total Siyapa, Dear Zindagi, Lahore se Agey and Teefa in Trouble.

    Farhan Saeed

Farhan Saeed joined the pop-rock, Lahori musical band named Jal in 2003. Significantly, Jal instantly gained recognition and brought fans from around the country to their concerts, live performances and the like. Unfortunately, Farhan Saeed shocked all his fans by leaving the band in 2011.

He began his solo musical career but it kind of didn’t hit off. Instead, in 2014, he chose the path towards a television actor and it got stuck with him. He debuted in Hum Tv’s series named De Ijazat Jo Tu alongside Sohai Ali Abroo. Next year he did Mere Ajnabi.

However, his performance in Udaari truly gained him fan recognition in 2016. Interestingly, he won the best on-screen couple award for Udaari with Urwa Hoccane at the 5th Hum Style awards. Later the duo tied the knot happily.

Again, Suno Chanda is another famous drama series from his appearances. He won the best actor award for the series at the 7th Hum Style Awards.
